Worth writing about

• A factual error, an outdated reference or a broken link in a guide. Tell us the page and the paragraph.
• A topic that is missing and that you would have wanted explained before your own roof work.
• Permission to quote or reproduce part of a guide.

What we cannot do

• Diagnose a roof from photographs or a description. There is no substitute for someone being in your attic.
• Estimate what work should cost, or review a quote you have received.
• Recommend, rank or vouch for contractors anywhere in Canada.
• Act as an intermediary in a dispute with a contractor or an insurer. For that, your provincial consumer protection office is the right starting point.

If water is coming in right now

Contain it, move what can be damaged, and phone a local roofing company offering emergency service. If the ceiling is sagging or a light fixture is wet, shut off power to that circuit first. Do not wait for an answer by email.
