The site is a set of informational pages. There is no account, no form, no newsletter and no purchase. We do not ask you for personal information, and in normal use you do not give us any beyond what your browser sends to the server to load a page.

Information collected automatically

Like any web server, ours records technical details of requests: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page if one was sent, and the browser user agent string. These logs are used to keep the site running, to diagnose errors and to detect abuse. They are retained for a limited period and then deleted.

Information you send us

If you email the address published on the contact page, we receive your address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to correct the site where needed. We do not add correspondents to any list and we do not use the address for anything else.

The site is hosted by a third-party provider that processes server logs on our behalf under contract. Where measurement tools are used, they are described on the cookies page. Any such provider acts on our instructions and is not permitted to use the data for its own purposes.

Children

The site is written for adult homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
